Speeches and Workshops for Adults, Teens and Children

Speaking to Kindergarten children at the Hamilton Public Library 2007In addition to the following, I have done many readings in elementary schools in the last five years. At present, I am most often asked to come into elementary schools to talk about my books Big City Bees, Fraser Bear: a Cub's Life, and Tale of a Great White Fish: a Sturgeon Story, and to share slides about the books and about honeybees, black bears, Chinook salmon and sturgeon. Older children are also deeply interested in the writing, editing and publishing processes. I travel the province and the country regularly giving readings, and workshops, and I work with teachers and teacher-librarians to structure sessions so that they best meet the needs and interests of students.
